Well as we all know, when it's coming over the back at Mingus and not too strong, it's generally ok to fly, but beware the turbulence. Finally got my self up to the hill last Saturday and hucked off before it blew down completely. Me, Bad Randy, and Mike A. were the ones who got to enjoy the rasty, tatterted, punchy, lift/sink/lift/sink/sink/... you get the picture.
Hey, I hadn't flown for a month and I needed some air. You know how it is.... I don't know what goes on in my feeble mind, cuz the last time I had the opportunity to bail off in the same conditions, that little voice said nahhhhhhhhhh. Too rowdy. Where was that voice Saturday? Stuffed inside my harness with my spare brain no doubt. Don't get me wrong, it was major fun, just a couple of times getting dumped and pushed out of line, but after about 20 minutes of a death grip on the bar, I was ready to be on the ground.
Oh yeah, that was fun too. All I can say is thank God for wheels

It's hot today. 110 in the Valley of the Sun, and yes, it is a DRY heat. Really not too bad if you're a turkey vulture.

I'm on call this weekend. If you put your gloves on, we can set up our divers at the Butte without getting 3rd degree burns on our pinkies. Call me. I have a key.

Well, it seems the boys up in Utah are having some good times. Kris T, being quasi-unemployed/retired may never come home. We better see some good write-ups on this trip from you guys.

EdB says the Labor Day Fly-in button is coming soon to a web site you know. Thanks Ed. We need all of you to push this as a FUND RAISER!!!! As everyone knows, our expenses at Mingus will increase dramatically in the next couple of years.

I'm kind of exited about flying this weekend. Kind of, sheesh, what the hell does that mean? I dunno. Maybe because I'm trying to sell and buy a house in the hottest part of the summer is affecting my air horny hormones. Can anyone think of a worse date to close escrow in the Valley of the Sun than July 26th? I can't.

But I digress. Things are looking good for our little fundraiser up north, and if anyone has the GPS co-ordinates for the "new" LZ by the ballpark in Cottonwood, please forward them to EdB.

We still need sponsors, and since Jeannine and Lance have gone and left us up the proverbial creek, I hope to see some volunteers pop up this weekend at the monthly club meeting. You know, the one on top of the mountain. At 6:00 p.m. on Saturday June 9th.

Damn! Thanks Ed. I know I could post to the forum, but a blog seems to be a more personal medium. I dunno, but I can tell you mine won't be even 50% about flying. After being involved with this club (AHGA) for over 20 years, I've got a lot of memories.
Hopefully I can use this forum to express some thoughts, ponderings, etc.....

Let's start with the Labor Day Fly-in. I posted on the forum some items of interest to the club. Last time I checked, there were 2 responses. 1 from Ed and 1 from satman. WTF!!!!!
Is no one reading this stuff? I guess I could write it off with that excuse, but looking at the forum membership, I don't think that's the case.

Ok,Ok, I've got to stop. After starting and reconsidering the last 4 sentences, I need to relax with a glass of red wine. ( Davis says that's good for old grouchy bastards like me.)

Next time I post, I want to comment on some ACTION on the Labor Day Fly-in. Maybe it will be the notes from the June meeting, (on top of Mingus June 9th)maybe not. Regardless, don't turn me into a cussing, fuming, EdB :-)

I haven't had a new aribazorber in a long time

Hey cool. This is my first time using the latest version of this software, so some of the details are a bit new to me. Plus I never used a multi-blogger installation before - always been master of my own domain ya know? Anyway what I'm really doing with this post is testing if the new plugin that ¥åßßå wrote will actually add my blog to the blog list at the top of the main page.

It's too damned complicated to go into, but I figure when someone posts something they should have their blog listed in the bloglist so I asked for help writing the code to do that. ¥åßßå hooked me up with a plugin, so I gotta test it. Either way, I also gotta share the code for how to give a b2evolution blog to specific members of a phpbb forum.

Hey and since this is a hang gliding blog I better get something about flying in here, so here it is: I got me a shiny new Flytec 6010 vario that hasn't talked to my computer yet. Steve is really going the distance to help me make it talk. He talked to the factory and now I know the driver and version I need to run, and how I gotta be set up to make it talk. Hopefully it'll work as well as ¥åßßå's shiny new plugin

PS: I hate the living shit out of IE. Suckass POS browser wouldn't exist if the monopolistic bastards in Redmond didn't steal markets by leveraging their suckass OS monopoly. Stupid crapware wouldn't open up a dialog box when I clicked a link that opens a dialog box Go Firefox!!!
